Beak at the „Colloquium of African Geology" (CAG25)
Presentation of Project Results from Tanzania and Rwanda

14th - 16th August 2014, Dar es Salaam (Tanzania)

This year, the Colloquium of African Geology (CAG25) - the most important geoscientific conference in Africa - takes place in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere International Convention Centre. Beak Consultants GmbH will present the results of its engagements in Tanzania and Ruanda during the last years.

Together with the Geological Survey of Tanzania (GST), Beak will present the first draft of the newly compiled minerogenic map of Tanzania on 14th August at 1:30 p.m. during the session S2 in the Mikumi Hall. The map summarizes the current knowledge of the metallic and non-metallic mineral deposits and occurrences of the country being the basis for the search for new deposits. It creates an important basis for investment into the mining sector and is thus a prerequisite for the targeted development of the country. On 15th August 2014, Beak and GST will present the new „Geological and Mineral Information System of Tanzania” (GMIS) at 9:30 a.m. during the session S2 in the Mikumi Hall. This information management system, which was developed and implemented between 2013 and 2014, is designed to store geo-data at a national level. It is of inestimable value for the mineral sector and other sectors of economy, public services and science.  On the same day, at 10:15 a.m., Beak and the Rwanda Natural Resources Authority (RNRA) will present the results of an extensive project to explore mineral deposits in Rwanda, which has been executed in cooperation with the Council for Geoscience (CGS) between 2011 and 2013. The detailed survey investigated new mineral findings within four delineated potential target areas and by this provided a valuable basis for the further successful development of the country.
