04 - 07 September 2011, International Conference “GeoMunich 2011: Fragile Earth”, Munich (Germany)

Beak is exhibiting and presenting at the international conference “Fragile Earth: Geological Processes from Global to Local Scales, Associated Hazards & Resources”, which is organised by the Geological Society of America and the German Society for Geosciences (DGG). The GeoMunich 2011 will take place at the Ludwig-Maximillians-Universität München (LMU) on 4-7 September 2011. This conference provides an international platform for research on global geodynamic processes and plate motion, regional plate boundary processes and their associated resources (e.g. oil, gas and geothermal energy), and on dynamics of fault networks and magmatic systems with their associated hazards (e.g. earthquakes and volcanic eruptions). For more information about the conference please see http://www.geosociety.org/meetings/2011munich/ and see the official circular.

Beak will contribute to the Technical Session T8E: “GIS and 3D-Modeling in Geosciences” on Monday, 5th September, between 2:00 and 4:25 p.m. with two presentations about the available advangeo® prediction and 3D database software packages. First, Sven Heico Etzold will give a presentation about “Design and Development of the Countrywide Hydrogeological 3D Database of Saxony” (see abstract). Then, Andreas Knobloch will give a presentation about “Prediction of rainfall-generated soil erosion processes with artificial neural networks and GIS” (see abstract). For a detailed programme of the conference, please refer to http://gsa.confex.com/gsa/2011FE/finalprogram/.

Beak will also be part of the company exhibition at the conference. See you at our booth C11!
