Beak at the 35th International Geological Congress
Presentation of project results from Tanzania, Namibia, Ghana and Uganda and new case studies for advangeo® Prediction Software

27th August - 4th September 2016, Cape Town (Republic of South Africa)

The 35th International Geological Congress takes place from 27th August to 4th September 2016 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa. In more than 3000 oral presentations and almost 2000 posters, geoscientists from all over the world will present their latest research results.

Together with the Geological Survey of Tanzania (GST), Beak will present the new Minerogenic Map of Tanzania as an integral part of the Geological and Mineral Information System (GMIS) on 30th August at 11:00 a.m.

On the same day, at 5:15 p.m., Beak together with the GST, the Geological Survey of Namibia (GSN), the Geological Survey Department of Ghana (GSD) and the Geological Survey Department from Entebbe/Uganda will present experiences from 20 years of introducing geo-scientific information management systems.

On 31st August, at 9:30 a.m., Beak will present the methodology and examples for using advangeo® Prediction Software to analyse geological features in 2D and 3D with methods such as artificial neural networks, fuzzy logic and weights of evidence.

On 1st September, Beak, together with the Federal Institute for Geosciences and Natural Resources of Germany (BGR), the GST and the GSD, presents the results of several case studies for mineral potential mapping and resource estimation with artificial neural networks.

The Geological Survey of Namibia in cooperation with Beak presents the methodology for artificial neural network based geo-hazard potential mapping with examples from Windhoek/Namibia and Germany on 2nd September 2016, at 2 p.m.
