IAMG 2022 Conference

Beak presents mineral exploration targeting results for tin in the Erzgebirge in Germany and for gold in the Dunkwa region in Ghana

1st September 2022, Nancy (France)

From 29th August until 3rd September 2022, the 21st Annual Conference of the International Association for Mathematical Geosciences (IAMG 2022) is taking place in Nancy (France). IAMG is an association promoting the use and advancement of mathematics, statistics and informatics in the Geosciences.

On 31st August 2022, Andreas Brosig from Beak presented about “Hybrid mineral predictive mapping with self-organizing maps and a multilayer perceptron applied to tin deposits in the Erzgebirge, Germany” in the session “S14 Machine learning-based mineral prospectivity mapping” at 4:15 PM. The paper has been compiled in the frame of "NEXT - New EXploration Technologies" project. This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 776804.

Furthermore, the poster “Artificial Intelligence (AI) based Exploration Targeting for Small Scale Gold Mining Operations in the Dunkwa Area, Ghana“ was presented in the frame of the same session at the poster session at 5:05 PM. It shows the results of a project conducted in cooperation with the Torkornoo Associates for the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources and the Ghana Geological Survey Authorithy (all from Ghana).
