Saxore Bergbau GmbH received bulk sample from the tourist mine Zinnkammern Pöhla e.V. 17th July 2013, Pöhla/Schwarzenberg – Freiberg (Germany)
On Wednesday, 17th July 2013, the tourist mine Zinnkammern Pöhla e.V. transferred eight mine buggies with tin ore to Saxore Bergbau GmbH. The bulk sample was received by Beak Consultants GmbH together with the Australian project owner Saxony Mines Ltd. The bulk sample was taken in a so called “tin chamber” that was constructed during a test mining period in the 1970ies. The skarn ore will be used for mineralogical and metallurgical tests. Up to now, the extraction of tin from the Pöhla skarn ores has failed. Due to the new metallurgic methods developed in the last 30 years, a new investigation on the economy of the tin skarn ore processing is required. These investigations are crucial for the preparation of a new feasibility study. The cooperation between the tourist mine and the project owner clearly illustrates the possibilities for a common future of tourism and mining industry in the Erzgebirge.
