GIRAF Network: "Geodatabase Ghana (GDG)" und "Planning and Implementation of National Geo-Scientific and Geo-Economic Information Management Systems"

Beak ist Partner im Geoscience InfoRmation for AFrica Network (GIRAF).

Der erste GIRAF Workshop fand vom 16.-20.März 2009 im Geological Survey of Namibia / Ministry of Mines and Energy, in Windhoek statt. Vertreter aus 30 afrikanischen und 4 europäischen Staaten bildeten ein Diskussionsforum rund um das Thema "Stand des Geoinformationswesens in den Geologischen Diensten Afrikas".

Beak war mit zwei Vorträgen vertreten:

  • Herr K. Boamah (Ghana), Herr Dr. A. Barth (Deutschland): "Geodatabase Ghana (GDG) - a milestone in application of advanced GIS and database technologies towards the sustainable management of mineral resources, attraction of investment and national economic and social development"
  • Herr Dr. A. Barth (Deutschland): "Planning and Implementation of National Geo-Scientific and Geo-Economic Information Management Systems - An Experience Report"
