As a part of the AEGOS project team (African European Georesources Observation System, www.aegos-project.org), Beak Consultants will present the paper "AEGOS - Common strategies for capacity building and training programmes". Since 2007, Beak has been involved in the planning and implementation of a pan-African IT- infrastructure for management and distribution of geo-scientific and mineral sector data. In total, the consortium consists of 21 partners, mainly African and European geological surveys. Further projects, products and services which Beak is promoting at the Congress are Beak’s artificial neural network based advangeo® prediction software (www.advangeo.com) for mineral predictive maps, the implementation of national Geo-scientific and Mineral Information Management Systems and several mineral projects in Africa, Asia and Europe. At the moment, together with both state and private organisations, Beak is working on mineral predictive maps at a national scale that help to guide national planning activities and a targeted use of exploration funds.

The paper will be presented at the 34. International Geological Congrees (34th IGC, www.34igc.org) in Brisbane (Australia) on 07th August 2012 by Mr. Bernd Torchala at the Symposium 5.1, Session 3 „Geoscience spatial data infrastructure”.
